Recent advances in deep reinforcement learning have significantly and rapidly increased the complexity of games playable by Artificial Intelligence (AI). As this technology quickly becomes applicable to the ~$100 billion global game industry, the question of its use in modern videogames changes from a speculative if/when will it be used to enquiries on how it can be best used to enhance player experience. In this talk, I will discuss how we at The Digital Creativity Labs are working to accelerate it's adoption by commercial game developers with a focus on recent work emulating human play.
