Member of the Psychosocial Working Group of the Childhood Cancer and Leukaemia Group charity.
The Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Group is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting research and those looking after children and teenagers with cancer. The Psychosocial Working Group is chaired by Dr Adam Glaser, Consultant Paediatric Oncologist from Leeds, and has wide representation from psychology, nursing, social science and parents groups. The recent addition of a former patient to the group was greatly welcomed. Present areas of work include attitudes of doctors and parents to clinical trials, quality of life measures, recognition of stress amongst professionals and the role of 'key workers' in helping families. The help and support of patients, parents and health workers around the country is gratefully acknowledged.
