Conversation Analysis, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Course Series

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventSeminar/workshop/course

Description

Between 2007 and 2009 I taught CPD courses in conversation analysis, which brought international scholars and practitioners to the University of York. I was asked to stop teaching them in mid-2009 since they were seen as imposing an unreasonable burden on departmental resources. They were the most time consuming, intellectually demanding, and rewarding courses I have ever taught. These courses were internationally recognised as training students to the highest standards in the field (e.g. when students who have taken this course go abroad e.g., to University of California summer schools, they are highly regarded for the thoroughness of their training).
