Diophantine approximation and related fields

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventConference

Description

This workshop aims to bring together researchers in Diophantine approximation and related fields to exchange ideas and collaborate on a range of topics and problems. The topics include but not restricted to:
- Diophantine approximation on manifolds and fractals,
- Connections to dynamical systems,
- Effective equidistribution,
- Khintchine’s theorem and its generalisations,
- Shrinking targets,
- Approximation by algebraic numbers,
- Diophantine exponents,
- Badly approximable, Singular and Dirichlet Improvable systems,
- Fractals, measures and Fourier decay,
- Mass Transference and Ubiquity,
- Parametric geometry of numbers,
- Schmidt's game, its generalisations and winning,
- Automatic sequences and tilings.

Venue and dates: The workshop will be held at the University of York from 9th to 13th June 2025. The workshop programme will be designed on the assumption that participants arrive on Sunday, June 8 and depart on Saturday, June 14.

Organisers: Victor Beresnevich, Shreyasi Datta, Jason Levesley, Sanju Velani
