The Hestia research project compared child protection systems and practice in England, the Netherlands and Germany in order to investigate different approaches to child protection and the impact on children and families. The project was undertaken by researchers at the University of York in collaboration with the University of Groningen and the German Youth Institute.
Key findings from the Hestia study were presented to 17 senior social work staff at City of York Council during a 2.5 hour workshop. Useful discussions were had between the researchers and practitioners.
