The Hestia research project compared child protection systems and practice in England, the Netherlands and Germany in order to investigate different approaches to child protection and the impact on children and families. The project was undertaken by researchers at the University of York in collaboration with the University of Groningen and the German Youth Institute.
Key findings from the Hestia study were presented to social work staff at Hammersmith & Fulham Council during a 2.5 hour workshop. Useful discussions were had between the researchers and practitioners about the implications of the research findings.
