First Principles: Comparative Legal Frameworks and Public Attitudes Seminar

This two-day event aims to set the scene and inform all participants of the first principles of child maintenance policies and the intended aims of policy across different countries. The seminars will establish a common ground for participants to discuss child maintenance issues, ensuring clarity over definitions of common terms, which is particular important given the cross-institution and international perspective this seminar series will foster. Dr Skinner gave two presentations: 'Reciprocity and the symbolic meanings of child maintenance' and 'UK child maintenance system and comparative analysis'
