the 18th International Research Seminar of the Foundation for International Studies on Social Security (FISS) is now open. The Conference addresses topical issues in the field of social security, with a special attention to the interrelation between growth and employment, new social policies and social security, inequalities and poverty. We have been able to select an excellent set of abstracts and speakers (confirmed keynotes by Lane Kenworthy (University of Arizona), Martin Ravallion (Director of the Development Research Group of the World Bank), Wiemer Salverda (Director of the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies & Coordinator of the international research project Growing Inequalities' Impacts) and Frank Vandenbroucke (Professor of Social and Economic Analysis and a.o. former Belgian Minister of Social Affairs & Pensions).
