Health and Care Research Wales (External organisation)

Activity: MembershipAdvisory Group

Description

All-Wales research careers pathway advisory group
In February 2022, the Making research careers work: a review of career pathways in health and social care in Wales (healthandcareresearchwales.org), published its report along with 17 recommendations for improving research career pathways for health and social care researchers in Wales.

We recognise the importance of ensuring broad reaching input from key stakeholders and experts across relevant professions and agencies to inform the responses required to address the recommendations and propose the creation of an All-Wales research careers pathway advisory group as an important next step. This group will provide advice (in the form of a critical friend network who are mutually committed to research capacity building in health and social care) and share good practice in relation to researcher development.

We are seeking membership from Welsh Government, Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), Social Care Wales, Health and Care Wales, NHS Wales, Education Institutes (HEIs) in Wales and UK Funders (National Institute of Health Research, Wellcome Trust and Medical Research Council).
