Description
Science pupils were given a tour of the Imaging and Cytometry labs at York. Here we had live demonstrations through 4 work stations including advanced light and electron microscopy and flow cytometry. Pupils were also shown the very latest technologies being developed and not visible elsewhere in the world and their relevance to future research was explained. The tours also try and bring out elements of the curriculum that they are learning to help give a more visual context and better understanding of what they are learning as well as to help inspire then to go on to study science in the future. Staff involved: Peter O’Toole/Karen Hogg, Graeme Park/Jo Marrison/Meg Stark School visits for 20-30 students
