Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS) Workshop

Description

The MHSDS dataset records all contacts for patients with secondary mental health services in England and covers care provided in hospitals, outpatient clinics and in the community, for children, young people and adults. The workshop attracted participants in NHS Trusts, commissioning organisations, the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and other government bodies, researchers and PhD students. The workshop provided participants with an understanding of how MHSDS data are collected, the data structure and how to manipulate it, how to identify patient groups, analyse key variables, how to cost the dataset, and the limitations. Participants were able to explore the dataset during hands-on computer sessions.
