Description
Professor Spiller organised jointly with members of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) an online security workshop on quantum communications and cyber security. The workshop took place over two half-day meetings, on 24th of November and 8th of December, 09:00 - 13:00.At the first meeting NCSC and other security experts shared their perspective on three main topics: strategic direction on quantum and quantum-safe technologies; integration of new (quantum) technologies into cryptographic and wider security architectures; and engineering and assurance of systems intended for use in higher threat environments. The second meeting consisted of parallel small-group discussions covering various topics, including: implementation and integration challenges; hybrid systems; demonstrators; sector specificity; future directions for new technologies.
The objective of the workshop was to propose a set of next steps, which might include further meetings, workshops and system demonstrations. Attendance was strictly by invitation only.
