New Modes of Reading

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventConference participation

Description

This research seminar was an occasion to think about, and disrupt, how we read contemporary novelists. There were two papers, followed by a discussion chaired by Dr Bryan Radley. Dr Alexandra Kingston-Reese’s talk explored how reading reflexively affords new spaces for understanding postmillennial artistic sensibility and form, and Dr Doug Battersby’s talk discussed Kazuo Ishiguro's elusive forms. The event was organised by Dr Radley as part of the CModS Research Strand, Creative Dissonance: Writing Now.
