I was invited to provide oral evidence to the Joint Committee on the Draft Mental Health Bill on aspects of the Bill relating to patients concerned in criminal proceedings or under sentence (commonly referred to as "forensic patients" or Part III patients under the Mental Health Act 1983). I also provided written evidence to the Joint Committee in response to their call for evidence: https://committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evidence/2720/
The Joint Committee is composed of members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The Committee is scrutinising the provisions of the Draft Mental Health Bill and will provide a report to the Government with recommendations.
