Policy workshop "What makes schools work for disadvantaged children?" University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

I gave a talk on "How can schools add value?" joint with Professor Emilia Del Bono (Universiry of Essex). My part of the talk focused on teachers' biases in the assessment of cognitive skills and mental health in children. I emphasized that my research revealed that there can be biases in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, as well as gender biases in mathematical skills. The presentation was aimed at policy making experts in education from the Scottish and English Governments.
