Description

LSHTM and ACMS dissemination workshop ‘Strengthening health system promotion of maternal and child health through medical travel’ a collaboration between the University of Witwatersrand’s African Centre for Migration and Society (ACMS), the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Aurum Institute in South Africa. The project is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Wellcome Trust of the United Kingdom. This project explored the impact of migration and mobility on the public healthcare system and research was undertaken in six primary healthcare clinics in Johannesburg, Ekhuruleni and Vhembe District (Limpopo).
