January 2006-August 2009. In 2006, the Faraday partnerships (above) migrated into new ‘Knowledge Transfer Networks’. The ProBio community constituted one-third of the new BfBKTN, which also included the National Non-Food Crops Centre and the UK Blue Microbe Network. The Science Manager role was equivalent to the ProBio RD role and was significant within the discipline of Applied Biocatalysis in the UK, supervising the awards of CASE studentships and other monies and being the KTN expert on the area of Industrial Biotechnology. The BfBKTN was also involved with developing calls from research councils such as the Integrated Biorefineries Technology Initiative (IBTI)
