Description
This seminar discussed how science and technology can better serve the interests of poor and marginalised communities across the globe. Jon and Steve introduced their work with Oxfam in Vanuatu, in which they have been investigating the use of participatory approaches to bring together scientists, engineers and rural communities to develop novel water monitoring technologies. In this project they have worked with communities from the most disaster-prone country in the world to explore how novel approaches from physics, biology and electronics can be put to the service of those most desperately in need of support.
