This lecture, a presentation to the postgraduate seminar in choral literature, focused on the history of serial composition in choral music, touching on literature from Webern to Gaburo and continuing with more recent compositions treated in more detail. These included three works by the lecturer (William Brooks): in memoriam reducere studemus, A Wake of Music, and For Orpheus.
