Member of the 'Insight into Publishing Scheme' on the journal Social Policy and Society. The scheme offers a comprehensive introduction to the work and processes involved in the administration and publication of Social Policy and Society. Two candidates will work with the current journal editors over the course of several months to gain an insight into: · the review process of articles; · the development of successful articles from submission to publication; · the decision process surrounding the content of individual journal editions; and · the dissemination of published research findings. Candidates will ‘adopt’ two articles all the way through from submission to publication/rejection. This process will include identifying reviewers for their articles, liaising with administrative staff, journal editors and article authors, reviewing articles and peer review comments, and participating in editorial discussions regarding journal publication. Candidates will therefore gain a thorough and unique understanding of the entire process of publishing peer-reviewed journal articles. Candidates will also be asked to review one or two journal articles aligned to their research that have recently been published in Social Policy and Society. It is hoped a discussion review will be published to disseminate the findings of research, stimulate academic discussion and raise the profile of the candidate.| Period | 2014 |
