The Society is the major organisation for fourteenth-century studies in the UK and provides the European ‘wing’ of the Society of the White Hart (above). It hosts annual meetings at the International Medieval Congress, Leeds. I attend annually and share, with my fellow-founders (Prof Chris Given-Wilson, University of St Andrews, and Prof Nigel Saul, Royal Holloway University of London) the organisation and chairing of sessions. For the 2009 Congress I have organised seven sessions, with 28 participants from France, Italy, UK and USA.
