Soyuz spaceship material challenge STEM activity at St. Wilfrid's RC primary school

Activity: OtherPublic engagement and outreach (schools)

The activity is designed for the KS2 curriculum where kids can learn about material properties (Conductivity, Mass, Magnetism) for space capsule and satellite structures. I gave a presentation and shown one video from ESA, then the pupils investigated weight, electrical conductivity and magnetism of material samples to find the best one to build a spaceship. Materials and testing equipment was provided by the Physics department Outreach team at the University of York.
