Description
Stonehenge Visitor Centre is set to be transformed into a Neolithic food festival, providing a delicious opportunity for people to explore and learn about prehistoric food, with historical food interpreters, archaeologists and food producers.Activities include a Neolithic kitchen and a hands-on shopping experience, live food demos and snappy talks on Stonehenge, food and feasting.
Our interpreters will spend the weekend recreating celebration food that has not been seen for 4500 years. Roasting pits, boiling pots, sharp flints and bubbling brews - a real taste of the past! Bring the family and see how they prepare the feast and learn about what a Neolithic menu had to offer.
The Feast at Stonehenge weekend is part of the Consuming Prehistory project f unded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and developed in partnership with Cardiff and York Universities. It complements the Feast! exhibition at Stonehenge which runs until the 16th September.
