The intellectual and cultural world of Fulke Greville spans the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I, and reaches into the core of the poetic imagination, philosophical experiment, theological controversy, and courtly politics of the period. The conference aims to draw attention to the manifold aspects of Greville's career as a writer. Panels will discuss Greville's poetics, epistemology, philosophical and religious beliefs, as well as addressing questions of the production and performance of his work.
