Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group brings together leading academics from the Universities of York and Leeds with clinicians and managers from the Bradford health community and the Yorkshire and Humber region to co-produce research high quality research that addresses NHS priorities. The YQSR group is a multidisciplinary team whose aim is to develop and evaluate innovative solutions to patient safety problems. The group also has expertise on how to speed up the translation of these ideas into practice (http://www.yhahsn.org.uk/). A key to the success of the group has been the embedding of health research into NHS practice. Our research is organised into three broad themes: 1) patient involvement in patient safety; 2) e-health and safety and 3) organisational, team and individual learning and change for patient safety. Our work is supported by a patient panel who advise us in the planning, conduct and implementation of our research.
