Perception of Global Image Contrast is Predicted by Matched Filtering and the Integration and Suppression of Local Contrasts (not RMS contrast)

Dataset

Description

Raw data from a study by Meese, Baker & Summers entitled: "Perception of Global Image Contrast is Predicted by Matched Filtering and the Integration and Suppression of Local Contrasts (not RMS contrast)". The stimuli were textures comprising small patches of grating of different contrasts, and the task was one of contrast matching. See paper for details once published. Each block of data in the spreadsheet contains raw staircase data (number of correct trials and total number of trials at a range of contrast levels) for four repetitions of a single condition. Threshold and slope values for each repetition are also given. The first sheet is for the main observers, the second sheet is for the additional naive participants.
