CRD is an academic research department that specialises in evidence synthesis. Our research spans a broad range of health and public health areas and we are motivated by a strong belief in the importance of using best available evidence to inform policy and practice. Our methodological expertise and role in methods development underpins robust application and production of high-quality syntheses.
In REF21, with cognate departments, we were ranked 9th overall and 6th for research power in the public health, health services and primary care unit of assessment (UoA2). Of the 7 impact case studies submitted to this UoA, six were rated 4* and one 3.5*. Three of the seven were based on evidence syntheses led by CRD.
