The Music Department at the University of York is one of the liveliest music departments in the country.
The range of study, performance and composition is extremely wide, both within our taught courses and at research level.
Our teaching and research staff include distinguished scholars, composers and performers, and our Graduate School is unusually large for a UK department with over one hundred MA and PhD students who work in outstanding facilities (including the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, the Arthur Sykes Rymer Auditorium and the Music Research Centre).
Our students are able to share in research and music making of all kinds at the highest level.
