Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests encompass housing inequalities, with expertise in sustainable homeownership, shared ownership, low-income homeownership, housing markets, Northern Ireland, mortgage markets, poverty and inequalities, buy-to-let, cultural economy and systematic review methods in social policy. I have recently become interested in the intersection between new technologies and housing and mortgage markets.

I am a Trustee of the Housing Studies Charitable Trust and was formerly the Secretary of the Housing Studies Association.  I am a Churchill Fellow and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. I started my housing education with a BTEC HNC in Housing and I am pleased to now be an external examiner for the Foundation Degree courses at New Durham College.
