Ass. Professor Heinemeyer is interested in hearing from self-funded students or students who have a scholarship who wish to pursue a PhD on any topic relating to management and/or climate effects on plant-soil processes, specifically soil carbon cycling, and ecosystem services (such as water storage, water quality, biodiversity) in the natural environment, particularly forests, grasslands and peatlands. Links to society and economy are of interest and could be addressed in collaboration with other supervisors in the department or elsewhere.
