Biography

Ann completed her PhD research, a qualitative study entitled: 'Managing treatment and living with chronic myeloid leukaemia' in 2021 and graduated in 2022. She currently works as a Qualitative Researcher in the York Trials Unit.

Ann studied general nursing at the University of Birmingham and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1994. She worked in London in hospital settings until 1997 then moved into community nursing; qualifying as a District Nurse in 1999. From 2008-2012 she worked as a disability analyst on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, during which time she moved to Yorkshire and began a Masters in Health Services Research at the University of York. She started working at the University of York in 2012 with the Epidemiology and Statistics Group as a Study Nurse, then Research Fellow, and moved to the Trials Unit in 2023.
