Biography

Ann joined the Epidemiology & Cancer Statistics Group (ECSG) as a study nurse in 2012. Ann completed her PhD research on 'Managing treatment and living with chronic myeloid leukaemia' in 2021 and graduated in 2022.

Ann studied general nursing at the University of Birmingham and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1994. She worked in London hospitals until 1997 before moving into community nursing; qualifying as a District Nurse in 1999. From 2008-2012 she worked as a disability analyst on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, during which time she completed a Masters in Health Services Research at the University of York.
