PhD projects
I am interested in supervising PhD students who are interested in conducting Economic Theory based research. In particular, I am happy to supervise research in the following areas:
1. All aspects of Industrial Organisation Theory: in particular Platform Economics and 2-sided Markets; Economics of Privacy; R and D and Innovation; Telecommunications and Digital Economics; Contractual aspects of firms; Pricing Strategies and Discrimination; and Information Sharing.
2. The Economics of Climate Change - All issues related to Climate Change as global public goods analyzed from a Micro-Game theory perspective, especially in International Environmental Agreements.
3. Micro and Public Economics, in particular, Contract theory (especially delegation and costly verification models); Local Public Goods (especially club goods); Certain aspects of Contest Theory and their applications.
My research interests are in Economic Theory. In particular in Industrial Organisation and Microeconomic Theory, Contracts and Regulations, the Economics of Climate Change, and Public Economics.
I also lead the YESI-Climate Change Network research group which is a University-wide research network where we investigate a range of issues relating to our changing climate from an interdisciplinary perspective.
