Greg Tallents' current research interests centre on the effects of high plasma density on spectroscopy and the interaction of extreme ultra-violet lasers with solid targets. He has produced a textbook linking undergraduate level atomic and radiation physics with the advanced material required for postgraduate study and research [(2018). An Introduction to the Atomic and Radiation Physics of Plasmas. Cambridge University Press]. More recently he published a textbook linking undergraduate studies of special relativity to the material needed by plasma researchers and users of specialised light sources (such as synchrotrons and free electron lasers) [(2022) An introduction to special relativity for radiation and plasma physics. Cambridge University Press.]
