Biography

Lenka Havlickova completed her PhD in 2011 in the Czech Republic at the University of South Bohemia, where she continued as a postdoc focusing on molecular breeding of rapeseed. She joined the Bancroft lab at the University of York in 2013, where she is now a senior postdoctoral researcher. Her main role is manager of the group’s Brassica napus genomics platform, which includes a transcriptome re-sequenced diversity panel for Associative Transcriptomics and a genome re-sequenced radiation mutagenesis panel. Lenka has recently used Associative Transcriptomics to dissect the genetic basis of variation for a range of traits in Brassica napus as part of a five-year BBSRC research project (Renewable Industrial Products from Rapeseed; RIPR) and is pioneering genomics-led predictive mutation breeding in rapeseed.
