Description
A project with Universities of York & Southampton that tells the story of Basing House through the history & archaeology of surrounding people & landscape. Basing House is a late Medieval and Early Modern house in the village of Old Basing in Hampshire. The house was partially destroyed during the English Civil War and the project aims to discover more about the process of destruction and re-use. The project revolves around an annual excavation and community field school.
