CFH1 Partnership - SINGSVR: Simulating Inclusive Natural Group Singing in VR

For many individuals it is not possible to benefit from the psychological and physical health benefits of community singing due to disabilities or social anxiety. This project looks to engage such individuals through virtual reality (VR) technologies that give a virtual experience of choir singing, with the goal of demonstrating marked improvements in health and well-being. Through collaboration with the community singing projects of The Sage, Gateshead, data pertaining to the physiological and emotional benefits of community singing will be collected. VR simulations will be benchmarked against this data to assess the potential of the technology and establish firm directions for research.
