Layman's description
Mental health problems have a significant impact and workplace mental wellbeing is critical to good health and productivity. Globally, many employers are investing in workplace initiatives to promote mental health, aiming to see gains not only in the mental health of their employees but also in their productivity at work.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an educational training program designed to improve the public’s mental health literacy and improve help seeking. The significant level of global investment in MHFA and the considerable number of people receiving/or exposed to the training, highlights the need for high quality evidence about its effects in different settings.
Funds are sought to produce a synthesis of the available evidence of the impact of MHFA. Alongside this, a framework and resources will be developed to support organisations to make sector-specific informed decisions about introducing MHFA training and how to evaluate its impact.
