Description

Experimental philosophy (‘x-phi’) is a new and developing philosophical movement that uses methods from the social sciences to address traditional philosophical questions, by empirically investigating how we ordinarily think and talk about a variety of philosophically important concepts. The current project seeks to use experimental methods to address two discrete topics in the philosophy of perception: 1) whether we think of perceptual experiences as caused by things in our environment, 2) what it is like to be colour blind. The project will consolidate and develop two collaborative research partnerships and provide the foundations for an AHRC Standard Grant application.
