Ultra-low gate-count and low-power data compression algorithms were investigated, focussing on biosignals such as EEG, ECG, EMG, and related signal types, the goal was to develop low power circuits that occupy minimal chip area in digital systems.
Data compression algorithms were investigated, and ultimately fabricated as a silicon chip. These designs use extremely small amounts of chip area and power to achieve compression of signals from sensors for EEG, ECG, and other medical signals.
