Project Details

Description

Audio engineering and creative industries that centre on the use of music and sound technologies represent some of the least diverse industry and education sectors globally. This project produces a set of publication and design guidelines, co-created in collaboration with the UK-based "Immersive and Inclusive Audio" organisation, to drive forward the vital improvement required. The co-creation process is informed by an understanding of gender and other data gaps in published aural perception, design and production studies. The project team will promote the guidelines at the European Convention of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) by stressing how data gaps perpetuate exclusion, inequalities and barriers in these sectors, whilst also biassing the development of future technologies that are used by professionals and the public.
