INSPIRE - Research support for medical students

The INSPIRE Programme is a UK-wide initiative supported by the Wellcome Trust and coordinated by the Academy of Medical Sciences to engage medical students in research. I work closely with the INSPIRE Student Lead, and the HYMS Student Research Society to provide and support research-related activities for HYMS students. These include a Methodology and Translational Research Workshop, Summer Research Projects and an Annual Student Research Conference (with external and internal speakers). We have recently engaged with INSPIRE leads at Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle to create regional events, promote networking and expand research opportunities for students throughout the region.
