Layman's description

York's part in this multi-university programme consisted of development of modelling and measurement techniques for protection of aircraft from electromagnetic interference and lightning. Also work was undertaken to determine the feasibility and performance of wireless sensor networks in aircraft.

Key findings

New materials modelling and measurement techniques were developed. Data on wireless propagation and COTS system performance in reverberant environments was obtained.
