Performing Heritage in York: Beyond the Stage

This five-week project embarks on a new collaboration with Barley Hall in York, in support of a forthcoming exhibition of costumes from historical dramas, which opens in July 2022. Dr Benzie will work with staff at Barley Hall (part of the Jorvik Group) to provide contextual information on history plays and the dramatic representation of the past. In so doing, the project will test the potential for collaboration between theatre academics and a heritage organisation in preparing materials, and contributing to the development of engagement activities, for the general public.
