RPF SEF 14/15 Time resolved studies of electrically controlled magnetism

We have developed methods for performing time resolved studies of electrically controlled magnetism. The equipment has allowed us, via a 4th year MPhys student, to develop a high speed Sawyer - Tower magnetoelectric test rig and a pulsed inductive magnetometer. We are now using these on novel samples such as magnetoelectric hexaferrites and hybrid magnetolectrics (Ni/PMN-PT). We would expect the resulting data to lead to a publication in the next 9 months. With publications demonstrating a track record in this area we will then look towards RCUK funding for this project.
