The Short Peace Network

'The network's first workshop explores the complex, transnational media ecosystems of late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century Europe. While the international dimension of learned polemic has been perhaps the best studied aspect of the Short Peace, this workshop will both broaden and deepen this theme, by asking questions about the circulation and reception of texts in different local milieux, and by examining the multinational character of emergent genres of 'low' literature, including news publications, satires, and libels.'
