Torpel Manor Research Project

Co-leader (with Steve Ashby) of Torpel Manor Research Project. This is a community archaeology project in conjunction with the Langdyke Countryside Trust, investigating the landscape of a medieval manorial site in the Soke of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. So far we have undertaken background research, done a detailed earthwork survey, co-ordinated the recording of finds from the site and environs, and spoken at public meetings. The aims are to elucidate the history of the site, its landscape, and surrounding villages, to engage the local community in preserving and understanding their heritage, and to provide materials for us in an HLF-funded interpretation centre.
