What are Effective Methods to Recruit Research Participants into Mental Health Trials?

Project: Other projectProject from former institution

Project Details

Description

There is a clear need for evidence-based recruitment strategies to enable clinical trials to recruit to target. Adopting the MRC Complex Interventions Framework, we aim to develop an effective recruitment strategy for clinical trials in mental health by; a) surveying and reviewing the existing evidence; b) interviewing stakeholders and observing recruitment in existing trials; and c) testing the new recruitment strategy in an exploratory trial nested in ongoing clinical trials in mental health. The project is linked with: • MRC START (Systematic Techniques for Assisting Recruitment to Trials) (http://www.medicine.manchester.ac.uk/mrcstart/). • Patient Perspectives Theme, MRC North West Hub for Trials Methodology Research (http://www.liv.ac.uk/nwhtmr/).
