Project Details

Description

This project is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England as part of its Postgraduate Support Scheme. It is a collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Warwick and York. Sheffield is the lead institution.

The project involves a range of activities connected to taught postgraduate education. A substantial number of scholarships (360+) aimed at widening access to taught postgraduate study have been awarded by the consortium. The University of York/University of Sussex team is leading on the research strand of the project, labelled 'Understanding the Student'. We are conducting surveys and statistical analysis of student and application data to understand who accesses postgraduate education, how and why.

Total project funding is almost £3 million. The research strand element is around £200,000.
