Layman's description
Findings from existing research will be used to develop further measurable impact in another setting. This project will build on new links to establish a partnership between the University and England Netball (EN) in which the proposed project is one of the initial activities. Our research has established that to enable provision of bespoke support and the most effective operational improvements in the volunteer-management relationship, understanding of the specific emotional landscape of each context is crucial. The proposed project involves a mapping study and associated policy/training review and evaluation. This addresses an existing knowledge gap identified by EN around the nature of volunteer and management commitment and the appropriateness of existing policy. This facilitates translation of research findings in one context to another, in a bespoke and targeted way, thus supporting England Netball in more effective achievement of their strategic goals around volunteering.
