Description

To understand how the perception of risk and uncertainty and related copying and risk taking strategies, are influeced by and expressing social relations at the local, national and global level.

There are three discrete but linked themes within this :
- First, the contemporary understanding of risk which is highly contextualised and expressed in the analytical language of 'risk culture/society'.
- Secondly, how uncertainty and accountability are managed within the contemporary science and technology.
- Thirdly, the role of governance and trust in different social and political contexts. What methodologies can be developed procedures, tools and case studies for the risk profiling process on a national, subnational and local level?

EU funding and recently been won (see below) for a 3 year interdiciplinary collaboration to examine the socio-economic, political and biological implications for Europe on near-term and future global development in the field of regenerative medicine.
